You are right on the mark! This country has been very slowly moving to what you are calling “drifting toward an oligarchy or a hereditary aristocracy of wealth.” It started with Reagan and became more solidified in 2010 with the Supreme court ruling in Citizens United v FEC case, which basically ruled corporations were considered people. This opened the flood gates for the very wealthy and special interests to form political super pacts. This was just another tool to take away the voice of the people and shift to corporations and the very wealthy. Great article Sona! Keep doing what you are doing! :)
